We are a Reading School!

We are delighted to have been awarded our Reading Schools core accreditation.  This accreditation is awarded to schools who demonstrate a commitment to building a reading culture for their learners and communities.  Our Reading Representatives, children and staff have worked hard this year to develop our class and school libraries ensuring that they are comfortable, inviting environments filled with a variety of engaging texts.  Daily reading activities includes ERIC (everyone reading in class) time, reading with buddies, IDL novel studies and children sharing their reading.  We have enjoyed celebrating reading with families and the wider community through family sharing events for Book Week Scotland, World Book Day activities, book swaps, home learning challenges, community library visits and author visits.  A big thank you to everyone who supported these events.

Below are some links to resources and recommended texts to help promote reading for enjoyment at home.
